Honore de Balzac (May 1799 – 18 August 1850) was a French writer, who in place of the romanticism of the time, wrote reality novels based on French society. His childhood was certainly not full of love because his overbearing elderly father sent him off at an early age to be taken care of by nursemaids and boarding schools. In the end, his failures in life combined with being an outcast in society ultimately made his novels successful. His quotes on motherhood reflect the strength of a mother’s unconditional love that only that can only come from a mother in light of all his failures. His realistic views of life make his view of motherhood “real.” She stood by him because that is what mothers do- forgive 70 x 7….

“Youth fades; love droops; the leaves of friendship fall; A mother’s secret hope outlives them all.” —Oliver Wendell Holmes
God gave mothers part of "His" character of being the Comforter, the Holy Spirit. Isaiah 66:13 says "As a mother comforts her child, I will comfort you." Then God uses that physical and motherly love of a child to help his children understand Him.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes.” Revelation 21:4
“Jesus wept. “Then the Jews said, “See how he loved him!” John 11:35-36
Jesus showed the Motherly compassion as she is the first one to squat down and cuddle a crying child and wipe away the tears. I love how Jesus lead and taught his disciples obedience as a father to sons but also “Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end” John 13:1 “A mother's sacrifice is never-ending, and her love is never-fading."
“How often have I desired to gather your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings…”Mat. 23:37b
The happiest time of a mother is when she can gather all her children together in a loving group. Just as the hen protects her babies from danger, a Mother feels most secure to know her children are under her watchful eyes.
Proverbs 31:31 "Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate."
(🤭🤓🤔😂😂 “If evolution really works, how come mothers have only two hands?” —Milton Berle)
"Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 'Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.'"Proverbs 31:28-29
When God thought of mother, He must have laughed with satisfaction, and framed it quickly — so rich, so deep, so divine, so full of soul, power, and beauty, was the conception. —Henry Ward Beecher
"Mother's Day is not a 24 hour celebration. It is an everyday joy ride on the most amazing roller coaster of life that only a God of the purest love could have designed for a woman. There will be the highest highs and the lowest lows as your heart follows the tracks of each child but there will never be a greater thrill in life than that of motherhood. Embrace it all as God is always right next to you to scream at your fears and laugh at the falls until the last curve that takes you home with Him.”
Amen👆💕❤️❤️
