Be Special: Each Has a Place in God’s Plan

This is a flower in my front garden from last spring before the scorched heat of August. It is a perfect example of this verse as I am the worst gardner ever. I planted it, I watered it but only by God’s power of creating life and beauty did it thrive.
Paul was not talking about gardening in this verse though. He was telling the people in Corinth that they should not swear allegiance to a particular person who is preaching to them for no one has the ultimate power to save anyone. Plus no person should claim that his/her work is more important than another. Each has a place in God’s plan but ultimately God causes the growth in each believer. ”For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.“
I Corinthians 3:11 NKJV
Having attended many denominations and churches in my 73 years, I can pinpoint something from each one that God used to grow my faith. One in particular led me to accepting Christ as my Lord and Savior yet that church is not the same one anymore. It laid a foundation on Jesus Christ, and from then on , the rest built on that foundation, each with a different focus for a season.
In my volunteering ministries, I have a brief influence on someone through classes, teaching and letters, but only God can use it as part of many to grow another’s faith. The one who led me to accept Jesus has moved away, while others have filled in the gaps as I went through times of drought and clouds and freezes like my poor flower . God willing the one leaf I still see indicates its roots are still deep to revive it in the warmth of the spring sun. For each of us, He is the one who grows and revives when our roots are established in Jesus as our sure foundation.
Lord, today remind us,
“Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours: (all His precious promises) And you belong to Christ and Christ belongs to God.“
I Corinthians 3:21, 23 NKJV
”For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.“
Ephesians 2:8-10 NKJV
I thank God for all who He sent to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, who planted and watered while the love of the Holy Spirit grew in my heart. Amen. 👆👆👆💐🪻❤️
