These butterflies are very abundant in the grassy fields but without much color and being small, one may not notice their uniqueness. They come from a green larvae, which is a type of cabbage worm. Notably they are called the checkered white cabbage butterfly because of their unique band of colors. Protodice is their genus and species name which seems to give them a sense of sacredness. White butterflies spiritually represent purity and angelic presence. “From the fullness of His grace, we have all received one blessing after another.” John 1:16

This verse of the day on my calendar reminded me to stop worrying and look to find the abundance of blessings I have received and to shift my mindset from worry to gratitude. Just like these butterflies flit from one flower to another to drink in the nectar, my mind can reflect on one blessing after another to lift the burdens of the day. I can “drink deeply of God's Spirit” to be able to spread His Word to others.
“….guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is PURE, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things.” Philippians 4:7-8
“But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure;” James 3:17 In Luke 11:49, Jesus called Himself “The wisdom of God.” Paul wrote, “Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God…Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God…in [Christ] are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (1 Corinthians 1:24, 30, Colossians 2:3).
And so, reflecting on such a simple white butterfly, we can learn how God’s Creation teaches us how the “grace upon grace” of Jesus brings us abundant blessings when our mind “is stayed on Him”.
Amen. Amen. 👆❤️
