This flower is a Japanese Iris. The photo was sent to me by my grandson who sent it for me to use for a Scriptural meditation. When I asked what he observed about it, he said symmetry. I researched the word "Symmetry" and found one of the definitions fits this flower best by stating “Beauty as a result of pleasing proportions or harmonious arrangement.” The Cambridge dictionary defines symmetry as “the quality of having parts that match each other, especially in a way that is attractive , or similarity in shape or content. “
My grandson further agreed that God’s intention may be to demonstrate the Trinity; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. His response was “I think it represents balance because the holy Trinity is God split between three different persons.”
Another definition of symmetry also reflects the Trinity; “the property of remaining invariant under certain changes…” Invariant - “For I the Lord does not change;” Malachi 3:6 ; “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8 ; “ For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal. “
2 Corinthians 4:18
God has promised us that if “You will seek me, (you will) find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13 Therefore, as God reveals Himself to each who seek Him as Creator, He gives the gift of salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ and His Spirit then lives within to enable even greater truths.
“But God has shown us these things through the Spirit. The Spirit knows all things. The Spirit even knows the deep secrets of God…We received the Spirit that is from God, not the spirit of the world. We received God’s Spirit so that we can know all that God has given us.“ 1 Corinthians 2:10,12
Today, look beyond the wisdom of the world’s definition of symmetry in math, science and biology and seek the amazing Creator in the balanced beauty and harmonious arrangements of nature. Amen.🙏
