"How to Find Peace in Your Backyard: Allowing the Celestial Optician to Readjust Your Sight"

I have impressive photos of sunsets and great scenes of nature but it is like the simple everyday occurrences of different birds at the feeder, now including the pairs of deep red cardinals, that remind me of reasons to praise the Lord and find peace.

Doves

The doves come in pairs too, with one usually guarding from the fence while the mate eats at the feeder.

“It is a great thing to have our spiritual sight tested by the Celestial Optician, to watch the way in which He rectifies and readjusts our sight. There is one unmistakable witness that Jesus promised us, and that is the gift of His peace…When our Lord spoke peace, He made peace. “Oswald Chambers

“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” Matthew 6:26

“When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form LIKE A DOVE. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.” Luke‬ ‭3‬:‭21‬-‭22‬

When I watch the doves, they never chase away other birds from the feeder but many times humbly eat the fallen seed on the ground.

I can understand how God uses them as the “bodily form “ of the Holy Spirit. The humility of the dove and its dependence on its mate are a conviction of who our God truly is. That is the Spirit that came upon Jesus Christ and the same Spirit He can pour into our hearts when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior.

Micah 5:5: "And he shall be their peace"

Today I can pass to the next generation something most important. The peace you will search for all your life may be as close as your backyard if you allow the “Celestial Optician” to readjust your sight. Get out of the phones and games and technology and find the God who is your peace.

“And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful" Colossians 3:15
