If there is a new insect to be found, my grandson finds it. He is always seeking something new in nature. This type of grasshopper is a unique color and is found in early spring because of the timing of its molting multiple times over winter. The female is green while the male is colorfully red/brown.

In this verse, and the preceding chapter of Isaiah, God is promising His people that He will restore them after their rebellion.
“See, the former things have come to pass, and new things I now declare; before they spring forth, I tell you of them.“ Isaiah 42:9
Just as the grasshopper has gone through the life stages of egg, to molting, and then finally to adult, we go through seasons of change in life. As we read God’s promises in His Word, we learn and know He has a plan for the next season. We may or may not like change but we know one thing, God is already there ahead of us to mature us in holiness and provide.
“So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine.” 1 Peter 1:6
“For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! ” 2 Corinthians 4:17
“But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, he who formed you; Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. Because you are precious in my sight, and honored, and I love you. Do not fear, for I am with you; I, I am the Lord, and besides me there is no savior.“ Isaiah 43:1, 4-5, 11
Thank you, Lord, that “your mercies are new everyday. “ You go before me to prepare my way. You go behind me to protect me from my past. You are with me in every step of today . You are always doing a new thing in my life . Thank you.
“Here on the pulse of this new day, You may have the grace to look up and out and into your sister's eyes, into your brother`s face, your country and say simply, very simply, with hope, good morning."
