"How to Release Layers of Unforgiveness and Heal Your Soul?"

There are many interesting growths in nature that aren’t noticed until it’s too late. Tree bracket fungus or Shelf fungus is a disease of the tree's heartwood. The shelves are the fruiting bodies and by the time they appear, there is usually a large amount of interior damage. Spore producing cells called basidia form woody tubes through which the spores are released and a new layer of spore tissue is added each season on top of the old; and as time passes, these layers grow into the large shelves. The spores than infect trees around them and the disease spreads.
When I looked at this old tree covered with this fungi, I thought of how we can try to live with layers of unforgiveness in our hearts while not realizing how it is killing our souls. When it becomes apparent is when others witness the effects in our outward speech and actions. By then much damage has been done not only to ourselves but to others around us. “…for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.“ Luke 6:45 Solomon warned , “Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:23.
There is always a two step process to heal your soul and find forgiveness. First, the acknowledgement that “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.“ Romans 3:23 which includes me. All is ALL. That means ALL need a perfectly sinless Savior who can bear the sins for All. “He Himself brought our sins in His body up on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness; by His wounds you were healed.” 1 Peter 2:24 Faith in and acceptance of being forgiven by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ is our first step to guard our hearts.
The second step is realizing that “he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him…” 2 Corinthians 5:14 Just as the fungus is slowly killing the tree from the inside, resentment and unforgiveness of others who offend and hurt is slowly killing the body and soul. Sins are like a debt owed that no matter how many good works done, the debt is not paid. Jesus paid that debt on the cross for ALL - accepting this enables us to forgive others of their debt too. “Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. “
Do you Love Jesus??
Yes with all my soul!
Not So Much:(
So let us ALL humble ourselves before an Almighty God and ask as King David ,”Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” Psalm 51:10
“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7
Amen. 🙏
