The Humbling Majesty and Awesomeness of Nature

As soon as I saw this photo of the lone tree atop of these rocks, I thought of this verse in Peter’s epistle.  Peter had trouble with pride as we all know from his boastfulness of being willing to die with Jesus yet then denying him three times. He was humbled and therefore, he was well versed in advising us to “submit yourselves…Yes, all of you be submissive one to another, and be clothed with humility, for “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”“ ‭‭I Peter‬ ‭5‬:‭5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

When we observe the majesty and awesomeness of nature, especially to something so unusual as a single tree amidst all these sculpted rocks, it should humble us. Man claims it took millions of years to create the Grand Canyon, yet science has proven it could be done in one great flood. God has said,”I am Yahweh; I will accomplish it quickly in its time.“ ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭60‬:‭22‬ ‭HCSB‬‬ “He has made everything beautiful in its time.“ Ecclesiastes 3:11

What Peter was conveying to us was in humbling ourselves , we can “cast all our anxieties on Him because He cares for you.” We no longer have to pretend to live life in our own strength, putting up a proud front. “The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.” Lamentations 3:25-26. In His timing, that lone tree was placed on that rock to cause us to seek Him knowing nothing is impossible for our Creator.

”For He says: “In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.“ ‭‭II Corinthians ‭6‬:‭2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ “For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.“ ‭‭Romans ‭5‬:‭6‬, ‭8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

In due time, at just the right time, God will fulfill His promises and exalt each who trust in Him. We are to put our all our trust into God’s hands, after all, “God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything.” 1 John 3:20. “ Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6

Amen. 👆👆👆🌲🙏🙏

Humble yourselves 1 Peter 5
